Dry Eye Conditions
Your evaluation starts with your story and your goals. We measure tear quality and quantity, assess gland structure and function, check lids and lashes, and screen for inflammation and allergy impact.
-
Dry eye basics
Dry eye happens when your tears do not keep the surface of your eyes comfortable and clear. Causes include low tear volume, poor tear quality, or both. -
Meibomian Gland Dysfunction MGD
When oil glands clog, the oil layer thins and tears evaporate faster. Eyes feel gritty or sore and vision may fluctuate. -
Blepharitis
Lid inflammation adds debris and irritates the surface. Treating lid health is key to lasting comfort. -
Aqueous deficient dry eye
Reduced tear production leaves eyes dry and sore. We identify the pattern and pair it with the right plan. -
Evaporative dry eye
Tears break up too quickly due to a weak oil layer. Thermal therapy with expression often helps. -
Contact lens discomfort
Dryness can shorten safe wear time. We restore the surface and help you return to more comfortable lens use. -
Demodex
A microscopic mite that lives in the eyelash follicles and oil glands of the eyelids. When present in excess, it causes irritation and inflammation and gland dysfunction that can directly contribute to dry eye symptoms.
